Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I'm a pretty good artist but just a very BASIC mechanic... I'm considering painting my brake calipers red on my 986 but I really don't want to remove them in fear of running into the possibility of messing up some of the braking components up. (I've done brake jobs on VWs long ago but that was long ago). I may just remove the wheels and hand paint/spray them myself...has anyone ever done them by hand? Any recommendations? Any advice?

Take a look here, if I can do it, so can you. You can buy the decals off of eBay. This really is an easy, fun project that makes a huge difference for minimal cost IMO. http://986forum.com/forums/diy-project-guides/41668-painted-calipers.html I used VHT paint http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CPJLVC?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000CPJLV2?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_search_detailpage
