Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Discussions that suspect a cause
1

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suspected cause

It was the BMC 'C' series engine (as opposed to the 'B' series usually fitted to the MGB) and that probably explains the MGC name.

Nice view !

Outcome qualification: Negation, uncertainty or missing explicit repair resolution overrides the raw extraction signal.

You are nearly right Mike, the "c" series engine replaced the Healey engine, but in reality it was not the improvemeent it should have been.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 1 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

The younger girls have nice bums !

POST 4Original post

Nice C GT and 996  I've got a V8 GT and a 993

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It is a rare MGC with a 3litre engine. But you are right it is lovely.

POST 7Original post

...ahh! Thought the bonnet bulge hinted at something larger than a 1.8! ...so with the 3 litre ( same as used for the Capri?) it reaches a higher level of my admiration

POST 9Original post

Capri is a Ford Essex V6, the MG has a straight 6 from if I remember correctly an Austin 6 like a Cambridge or Morris Oxford Put me right if I'm wrong please

POST 10Original post

It was the BMC 'C' series engine (as opposed to the 'B' series usually fitted to the MGB) and that probably explains the MGC name. It is an overhead valve (they weren't all in those days) straight 6. The engine was typically fitted to BMC's large saloons and also the 'big Healeys' between the early 1950s and early 1970s.

Nice cars, Mark. :thumb: It's always good to see some classics pop up. How long have you owned them? Any plans? I love chrome bumper B/C's. My dad has just finished his. We popped along to a local event on Sunday. He also has a Midget that he rebuilt before the B.

POST 14Original post

Now it all makes sense where your OCD stems from Mark, it's in your genes/DNA !!
