Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.
0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Leading evidence: 'Use '99 c2' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Use '99 c2' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I love how it feels like a different car when it's buttoned up for the winter.
Thanks, gents. I'm really happy with this set up. I have an old SUV for the really nasty weather.
Skiing in NY/Poconos is more like ice skating. This warm weather is making for a short season in the East. I think Killington only has 20 trails open last I checked.
When I learned to ski in the 70's at 7 Springs and Ski Liberty, it was called frozen granular
Just a fancy name for ice
There is an advantage to learn on that stuff, you have to edge and carve your turns. When you get a chance to actually ski on snow, its soooo easy
While I wouldn't mind driving mine in the snow, it's almost a certainty in California to get rear-ended in the snow. The vast majority of Californians don't know how to drive in the rain, let alone snow/ice/slush. The people who live in Big Bear (a) drive something lifted with tons of skid plate and brush guards, (b) have a winter beater, or (c) their only car IS a winter beater.
I'm never going to trust California drivers to not plow into each other, so the 996 doesn't get any snow time.
OP, I'm a little jealous.
Awesome. I wanted to drive the P-car to snowbowl when I had it, but I knew that I could not stay under the 85 mph even with board on the roof. I would forget and at some point I would go too fast and board would fly off.
And although I want to drive the AMG toy to the mountains, it is hopeless in the wet and I wouldn't even try driving it in 30 degree weather and some snow on the ground. Permanent flashing triangle in first 3 gears.
Funny how years of 'snow'(ice) conditions here in the east can indeed make skiing out west to be such great fun. We went to Vail in 2000 with our family Dennis, and couldn't believe the magnitude of beauty and the Mtns. in Colorado. I've only skied twice this year so far at Loon. I had to prepare my head this season after tearing my Achilles last Feb., but all is good so far!
It's easy to spot eastern skiers on the mountain. Their style is typically quite a bit different than western skiers. Glad to hear that your Achilles' tendon has healed up.
I haven't been up yet, which is unfortunate. Work has been crazy lately and I just haven't had the time. I'm hoping to head up this weekend, and I have lots of skiing planned towards the end of the year and into early January.
I too drive my 996 year round in Lake Tahoe/Reno and am an active skier at the big resorts. Here are some pics from last night, we got a little fresh dust. My 996 is a C2 with no PSM and is very engaging to drive in snow w/ Conti all seasons! The weight over those fat 285's in the back makes all the difference.
