Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

2011 Boxster Base. I don't have a leak in the back window but please see how the trim looks? For preventative maintenance, how do you guys protect/restore this trim?

POST 2Original post

Do you mean the faded look? All the black exterior plastic on a Boxster/Cayman can be made to look like new for a very long time with a simple wash (with alcohol and water mix - removes wax and silicone crap) then coating it with one or two coats of ceramic finish coating. There are even packages of ceramic coating in pre-wetted towels for sale just for this purpose (but I found it a bit heavy-handed in it's application, I prefer a few thin coats, this did a heavy coat..) Let me walk to the garage and grab one.. CERAKOTE® Ceramic Trim Coat Restoration Kit Cerakote Trim Coat is a ceramic coating, not a trim dressing, for automotive trim restoration and protection guaranteed to last 200 washes! Bonds to the pores of unpainted plastic trim, restoring it to its original appearance. cerakoteceramics.com This works. I used a different product on my Boxster, I used this on my Cayenne and the results were acceptable. The Cayenne lives outdoors year round.

POST 3Original post

Welcome to P9, @MiamiAG - I too use the Cerakote envelopes. Just be careful as it'll damage your paint (although the spot is far from it). It'll likely make it glossier than original, though. Please just make sure you introduce yourself in the "new members" section with car photos. Strong tradition here before asking tech questions as these. Let us know how your results come out. Cheers.
