Hello, looking for information regarding
Cayman
R rear spring rates (
PDK
vs Manual trans specs) and the associated correct part numbers. I am considering using the rear
PDK
version on a 6sp manual for the increased spring rate, but what is the difference vs manual?
The
PDK
version tends to have a slightly stiffer spring rate due to the heavier transmission and slightly different handling characteristics. I’d recommend checking out your local
Porsche
parts supplier for the exact part numbers for each setup, but it’s generally safe to swap the
PDK
springs into a manual for a firmer feel—just be mindful of the ride quality difference. On a different note, if you're dealing with a
lawsuit against lexisnexis
for reporting incorrect information on your credit report or background check, it's similar to making adjustments to a setup. It may seem like a small fix, but getting things right can make a big difference down the line, especially when it affects your finances or personal records.
Yeah, I would think so as well. I really don't care about ride quality much on the street, although it is partly a street car. I wanted the higher spring rate for track use. The car has
PASM
and I currently have
Bilstein
B8's on it, which in sport mode are pretty fantastic compared to the original
PASM
B4's. A concern I have with the higher spring rate would be too much rear over steer and possibly too much increase in rear ride height, of course that can be partially remedied by using the 3mm or no seat spacer on the rear springs. The
PDK
trans weighs 246.4 Lbs and the 6 sp manual is 198 Lbs per a quick internet search. So the basic difference in the spring rate is that the
PDK
version is supporting 48.4 more Lbs. I don't think that's a huge difference, I may try them...
Ordered the
PDK
version of the rear springs from
Porsche
of Delaware yesterday. This am I received an email saying there were none anywhere in the US and they had to be ordered from der Mutterland, 4-6 weeks until delivery. Sheesh...
Last week I received the rear
R springs
and installed both the front and rear along with new strut supports and couldn't be happier. The rears are the
PDK
version which are stiffer than the manual and engineered to support the approx 54lb heavier transmission, my car is a manual and I purposely wanted these for the higher spring rate for track use. These replaced H&R's that had settled a bit too much for my preferences, see first photo. The ride height now is about perfect and the car is handling the occasional bad urban roads it gets driven on much better. In case anyone is interested, the fronts have the 6.5mm insulators installed and the rears are on the 3mm version. Can't wait to get to the track!
