Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi everybody, This is Peter from Germany. Unfortunately I cannot find a solution for my engine whine problem, seems like I'm not the only one with a 3,6l Carrera. There's a video on youtube which perfectly shows what I'm talking about- the whining noise, even without the belt mounted: https://youtu.be/-zi633t8frU My engine is rebuilt, new gaskets, bearings, chains, cylinders... I know noises are very subjective- but I think the noise was not present before the rebuild... Regards, Peter

POST 2Original post

Try removing the serpentine belt and see if the noise goes away, if it does, you have bearing going out in one of the rotating components.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The noise is present with the serpentine belt removed... As shown in the video.

POST 4Original post

Then I'd start by check all the spark plug for tightness.

POST 5Original post

Throw out Bearing??? Does the pitch change when you depress the clutch. HTH TIM
