Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Attached is an article that highlights what a lot of us knew was coming one day: The use of auto black boxes in accident cases. Accuracy of car 'black boxes' upheld - The Boston Globe I know that there is a computer log of RPM's on the Cayman. Does anyone know to what extent driving/engine/braking records are recorded on the Cayman?

POST 2Original post

It records practically everything - considering the network of sensors that exist on the car and report-in to the CPU for all the systems like ABS, PSM, PASM, etc. all kinds of things are recorded and able to be read-out. brad

POST 4Original post

Thing is that it may record all of that info, but I doubt any dealer could extract that info, since Porsche has not licensed access to the black box to any reader maker, hence investigators can't read it.

POST 5Original post

OK, I read it. Now, how does one protect one's privacy? There must be a way to erase/delete it? I can just see the day when Big Brother does a satellite read out on our cars and docks our bank accounts automatically because our cars ratted out on us.
