Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion

When I had my 996T I had a full print out done from the ECU to get a rev range report, time run vs miles recorded etc etc and I'm pretty sure that mine showed a spurious country code.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

2003 911 turbo Hi. In need of some advice or pointing in the right direction. My car had had a replacement ECU in its past, water damage according to paperwork. This was replaced with a matched but used unit and was coded accordingly at the time. Car works faultlessly and has never had any issues in the 8+ years since it was done. Only issue is that when reading the ECU the tech forgot to change the country code. Mine is a UK C16 car on all relevent paperwork, vin and build codes all match. But as the ECU was used it obviously came from abroad and holds a c22 code I think. Is this something that can be rectified by a dealer? ECU/tuning company nor anyone with durametric or official Porsche software? I have tried to contact the company that did it before but they no longer exist unfortunately Many thanks

POST 2Original post

I'm not sure that you have an issue. When I had my 996T I had a full print out done from the ECU to get a rev range report, time run vs miles recorded etc etc and I'm pretty sure that mine showed a spurious country code. I was told (by the OPC) that they all cars show the same C code on the ECU. I can't recall what number it was but C22 does ring a bell.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My main concern was that really. Also my OCD. All stickers and paperwork have a UK C16 prefix and the ECU is a c22. Just looked and that's Belgium. Didn't want a future buyer to put off with the mismatched numbers

POST 4Original post

Hi as I understand it if it was changed by a dealer and you have the ECU codes, the dealer can change it. I changed mine myself and do not have the relevant codes so dealers will not touch it.
