Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I noticed this on a USA Porsche dealer site - Truffle Brown Metallic with matching interior taste.

POST 4Original post

I think the picture is not doing it any favours for how washed out it looks. Truffle Brown is lovely

POST 5Original post

It's as if the home owner association picked out the colour for them.

I was seriously tempted by this, macadamia 991.1 GT3 comfort. Lovely road spec and appealed to my “black sheep” mentality in that no one else would!

POST 12Original post

There was a new cancelled order Macadamia 911 C2S at Porsche Bolton some years back specced up to the nines with almost every conceivable option. Sat in the showroom for months with a serious discount seem to recollect it was down to basic list before someone bought it.

POST 14Original post

Of all the colours you could choose from those were someone's top pick. The 'ivory' is worse than the 70's brown.

FWIW I'd rather have both the babypoo and brown than black...

POST 16Original post

PTS Mint green. Decidedly reminiscent of the bathroom suite colour Barratt et al favoured in their infamously low rent spec housing builds of the late 70s.

POST 17Original post

I really like that ivory GT3 and I'm not mad about the poo brown either

POST 18Original post

Peppermint is a gorgeous colour but so linked to the 964 it almost looks wrong on some cars to me-especially with black wheels.

All of these colours are vile, particularly the Mint Green and Sapia. But I always thought I was alone, Ive rarely seen a PTS choice that made me think "yes!, thats the colour Id choose". I was always confused as to why someone would pay for the privilege of applying an awful colour!

I can't find a picture of an example, but there's a frozen berry Taycan with green wheels around here. Horrendous.

Tommo87 said: RDMcG said: Not sold on this: Did they do a version for the Ken doll.? Hmm, looks like Rubystone, but maybe not quite, which is one of my favourite Porsche colours - needs to be on a transaxle or 964 though. PBJnr2 wants a pink Porsche so I’ve mad a deal with her - she keeps her end, I’ll see about getting my 968 wrapped early-90s Rubystone, a la… Not all the colours would appeal to me but glad someone gets them! What I don’t understand are people that go to the extra hassle and expense of having their car painted a shade of monochrome - surely there are enough out there already?

POST 37Original post

The thing with paint to sample is it’s so rarely “paint to sample” these days. It’s just an expanded pallet of pre-approved colours that Porsche will let you choose from. Whe was the last time you actually saw a true paint to sample? There was a 992 GT3 that was done recently in Aston Martin Racing Green.

“Paint To Sample” Guards Red. You may think I jest but on the 991.1RS that’s what it took and even now they’ve classified it an “historic colour” or some such and you’ll pay for it.

POST 45Original post

^^^ yep only Porsche could get away with pts Guards red option cost on the 991.1 gt3rs . Which incidentally is identical to standard free Guards red.

POST 58Original post

PTS is certainly interesting and it is great that we all like different things it would be boring if we all specced the same silver black or grey cars being a prime (Arctic grey....ok not pts only ££2500 extra on a 4RS e.g....primer paint anyone example. Yes no doubt it is fantastic to see particularly interesting cars on the road in interestingly different colours e.g. the other day a couple of Performantes went past in yellow and bright green...looked brilliant and certainly raised a smile. All very well for folks to bravely post 'I love this colour I love that weird colour' blah blah etc etc and yes good to see these colours are available in the first place seeing them out and about....... BUT would they spec these colours on a new car of their own paying c£8.5k and more for the privilege and most undoubtedly the answer would be a resounding no. :

Not commenting on the wheels or the neon green decals (or that it is a Macan), but the very dark green is about my absolute favourite colour for a 911 of all times. Such a understated, lovely colour 99% of the people would take it for black 90% of the time, but it really pops in bright sunlight. The very colour for the discerning gentleman. I just like that fact that Porsches do actually come in interesting colours - and that the owners are willing to spec them that way. Last week, as I was joining the motorway to head home, I thought I’d driven into a monochrome world. A berust je sea of white, grey and black vehicles. Not a single coloured one in sight. I blame the fact that so many cars (here in Holland anyway) are leased. Makes my Neptune blue (not a PTS colour on the taycan but lovely) car stand out even more.

POST 82Original post

It would be interesting to see a Porsche in this TVR colour. Reflex Charcoal. Under studio lights it shows all the different tints, but on all but a sunny day it looks like a very nice Charcoal Black Metallic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p8T3ghpvJkM

POST 83Original post

I personally love the PTS colours and am so glad they exist. Nearly all the colours above are great. They generally benefit from being "factory" approved, which is maybe why that 996 doesn't quite look right. I actually think BMW do it better with their Individual colours though.
