Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi guys, on the couple of occasions ive done the weekly shop in the turbo, ive noticed that when the bonnet is left up for a period of time ~5 mins when loading give or take when i shut the bonnet the alarm sounds. Is the only way to avoid this to unlock the car and open and close one of the doors (to stop autolocking)then open the bonnet? Oh while im here occasionally my wipers judder as in both at the same time so i think its the joint maybe needs wd40 on it anyone else experienced this? Cheers Chris

POST 2Original post

I've never experienced the bonnet issue. I can open it and leave it open with the doors locked and nothing happens. Maybe I havent got to 5 mins but I've loaded unloaded, changed CDs or bonnet light bulbs etc with no probs. Not sure if that helps! I bet everyone will be checking over the weekend [ ] Craig

POST 3Original post

Re: The re-locking/alarm, the delay can be increased by a garage with access to a PIWIS.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

It's only a guess of 5 mins it might be longer but imagine the time it takes to put about 7 or 8 shopping bags under the bonnet. then imagine the alarm going off and looking like a bit of a test .
