Axxess basically told me that the pin setup from the PO90042 looked correct but they couldn’t verify anything or guarantee it would work without testing themselves.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

I'm trying to replace my stock headunit with an Alpine aftermarket double din receiver. I bought an Axxess AX-PO90052 which is supposed to be for 09-12 Caymans, but the installer said it was a different plug. Going by the pictures, the AX-90042 might work but that's supposed to be for a Cayanne. Has anyone found an adaptor that works or tried a Cayanne harness in a Cayman? I'm so pissed at how specialized Porsche makes everything I may give up the upgrade altogether.

POST 2Original post

Crutchfield.com usually has good info... I know they also used to sell the adapters separately so you didn't have to buy the stereo from them (but you could if you wanted). Does Axxess not provide the info you need to figure this out? If not, other brands might...

Axxess basically told me that the pin setup from the PO90042 looked correct but they couldn’t verify anything or guarantee it would work without testing themselves. I’m pretty annoyed that a wiring harness company that makes models for porsche wouldn’t know something like that. Who is engineering these things? They are crazy expensive for some wires and plastic molding. I’ll attach a pic of the plug I’m trying to mate
