Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 original-poster resolution reports. Counts can overlap; they are not unique people or a success rate.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.

Suggestion

The actual water pump change is probably only a couple of hours, but draining the 20 litres of coolant out and then refilling afterwards and bleeding the system and filling some more and bleeding the system and so on and so on is a pain and takes ages.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Quick question: Looks like my waterpump is failing. How many hours does it take to change? Getting varied quotations.

POST 2Original post

My mechanic put 3.5 hours on the invoice for fitting water pump and new aux belt.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the quick reply. I thought it was quicker! But being quoted 4 hours

POST 4Original post

I did one a couple of years back don't think it took that long all I remember is there was a metal plate / bar that unbolts and when I put it back together there was a bolt left over to centralise the plate and a little rework was required doh!

POST 6Original post

Yes the bleeding and refilling can take a while even with a vaccum purge, so $ hours sounds like the chap knows what he is doing.
