Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I'm having an issue with accessories getting intermittent connections from the cigarette lighter socket (Radar detectors, phone chargers, data loggers when on the race track). I'm familiar with the 986 boxter and 996 sockets in older cars being larger than modern sockets, and the 2010 987 shouldn't have this larger socket (it's not larger and the plugs don't move around) however the plugs don't sit down all the way, nor that securely. A slight wiggle of the cable can often cut power. Does anyone else have problems with the cigarette sockets on their 987s? Is there a better socket that I can replace it with?

POST 2Original post

Check on Amazon. If it were me, I'd look for a converter from cig lighter to USB charger. Good luck! Joe Henley
