Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just a quick question for all really, this morning was very frosty and the windows were on the borderline of freezing. When you open the driver or passenger door, the window drops of course and go's back up when you shut it. Is there any way to help with this to stop them freezing up during the winter weather, or I fear the door might not open? Any ideas? thanks!

POST 2Original post

I wondered about this, as it must be an issue on every frameless kind of door (on cars that live outside). I wonder if a small amount of talc might help?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I might give that a try, combined with some more silican lubricant and see what happens!

POST 4Original post

Just be careful. I have this happen every year together with the inside having copious amounts of condensation over the winter months. One year, whilst trying to open he door in its frozen state the window actuator broke. I would be very interested in a solution

POST 5Original post

I just pour warm water over it before opening, not a cure but it does the trick.

POST 6Original post

I clean the rubber surrounds with Werkstatt Satin Prot. Effective and made in Germany. Useful for the interior as well.
