Hello
Porsche
Fam,
I recently purchased an
06 cayman S
and it comes with navigation system but no Bluetooth.. also don’t think the speakers are
Bose
since I can’t see the logo anywhere and they work okay.. any recommendations for an easy Bluetooth setup and speaker upgrade?
Thanks
Welcome to the forum! Plenty of posts here on this topic. Cheapest is to use a FM transmitter or swap out the head unit. The Gen1
Caymans
don’t have an auxiliary input so your options are limited.
Thanks! forgot about those FM transmitters.
Look at the Dension units. They are expensive but they take the place of the CD changer in the MOST ring. I had a complete
PCM
2.1 with
Bose
though.
I replaced my head unit and amp then did a speaker swap. I have Hertz 3-ways replacing the
Bose speakers
in the doors and dash tweeters. I went with their 3-way crossovers.
Thank you for the tip! These would pretty much be what I need, and can still keep the navigation system while connected to
Iphone
If you have the aux input in the armrest you can get a cheap Bluetooth dongle.

Hi there... if you're not in a crowded FM zone, the below solution should work just fine.
low complexity, low cost and best money spent on the car - esp. since
Waze
, Google maps and
Spotify
are pretty much are all I run now and I require a fast charging ports in the car that can actually charge while powering those apps.

i had been considering getting a bluetooth streaming kit or a CDR Aux kit to connect my phone to the car head unit. the criteria I had: - keep the power outlets if possible - prefer that it doesnt go on visor - no visible cables or messy wires - easy installation - low/no maintenance this is...

I ended up buying an FM transmitter on amazon that was roughly $20 and works great. I also swapped the old 7 " blown out door speakers for new BLAM 165RC set and they also sound pretty good. I found out that I should probably swap the factory 4" speakers that are on the door as well --- they're not blown out yet, but might have some issues down the line.. any tips there?
