Found some used CDR30s and even NOS faceplates, but for a couple hundred bucks I’d just as soon put that towards an aftermarket head unit with a nicer display.

It must have been knocked off and then sucked up by the vacuum at some point...likely the last time I took it in to have it washed/waxed.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

While moving the car to the “working” side of my garage to do a brake job for my next track day this weekend, I noticed the little button used to initiate bluetooth calls on my factory radio is missing. This one: It must have been knocked off and then sucked up by the vacuum at some point...likely the last time I took it in to have it washed/waxed. Regardless, I haven’t found it inside the car and it appears Porshe doesn’t make that part as an individual replacement piece, only the entire head unit that unsurprisingly is no longer in production. So I’m left in a position to try to source this from a wrecked car (base CDR30 head unit, no navi...this is my track car), or upgrade the stereo. Or delete it entirely I suppose. I don’t travel in this car, but I do drive it to and from track events, and it’s nice to be able to make hands-free calls while enroute to the track and listen to music/pod casts now and then too. Leaning towards just upgrading the head unit and speakers...maybe even get a larger unit with a touch screen to make nav or even an aftermarket backup camera an option too. I chose the base unit because this is my track toy...not a full blown race car, but it spends 90% of its time on track where the radio isn’t even on. So I’m torn. Easy answer is to replace the switch, but I can’t find one... Anyone here have any ideas?

I have a complete PCM from when I pulled it out of my '05 Boxster . Just name your price.

POST 3Original post

Thanks for the reply... does it have the same buttons?

POST 5Original post

Copy... yeah, if I can’t find the exact button, I think I’m gonna go aftermarket or maybe just delete the stereo completely. Found some used CDR30s and even NOS faceplates, but for a couple hundred bucks I’d just as soon put that towards an aftermarket head unit with a nicer display. Greatly appreciate the responses regardless
