Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am thinking about updating the interior of my rather gloomy 996TT. It is a silver car with the light grey interior. Wouldn't have been my first choice interior, but there weren't many X50s about when I was looking to buy so I settled for the grey. I have seen the aftermarket packs which companies like design911 do, with choices of alu or CF door handles, console etc. On a dark leather interior I really like the alu, but I am not sure how this would look with a light grey interior? Anyone got any pics? Also, any idea on prices, on design 911's website there are no prices, not sure if it is my computer or their website!

POST 2Original post

With a silver car, I'd go for the following; -Alu rear centre console and vents, carbon gearknob and handbrake. I'm not sure about the door handles personally. And try your local OPC who will be competitive on price if pushed...

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Cheers Is that your car in the pic? The CF does look better than I thought it would, my initial thoughts were alu though, esp. as the car is silver. I am not sure on mixing alu and CF, but I do like CF gear knob on Carnewal.

POST 5Original post

That looks really smart. Now what would you all recommend on a Zenith Blue with Black leather Cab?

POST 6Original post

Lovely looking interior  What's the round thing on the right of the picture? No, not the steering wheel but the space age cup holder thing. Where did you get the white dials from? TB

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just looked at the cost of the CF parts, not cheap!! If you wanted to replace all those parts it would cost you several thousand pounds!

POST 8Original post

White dials are factory fit aluminium dials. Cupholder is an exclusive bespoke design for the 996 from a specialist aftermarket distributor... (oh, alright - £4.99 from Halfrauds  ) You lose the standard fold-away cupholders with the full carbon pack. Cost of the 'large' carbon pack at the time my car was new was around £7,500 apparently!

POST 9Original post

Cheers for the info. Do the dogs have carbon fibre collars with matching alu studs? Will post pic of my mutt on your thread TB

POST 10Original post

I had Prestige parts do an Alu look make over on my Polar Silver TT, this involved the sports seat backs, centre and rear console, hazard switch and ignition surround. The trim strips, door handles and clock surround were all ready in alu look from new. Keiths work is of very high quality and he will do you deal if you exchange your original parts. All the work above cost less than £800. See his website www.prestigeparts.co.uk regards Mark

POST 11Original post

Hi, Absolutely has to be CF all the way. In the process of getting a centre console for my 4S as I have steering wheel, dash. on ebay original CF parts sell as follows: Centre console £350 Handbrake £120 Gear knob £80 Obviously some variance. The interior of Polar Express's car is the business full CF pack very nice. I have the dash and the upper console in CF but still have the stock cup holders :?: Alan

POST 13Original post
