Suggestion

Strange electrical things can happen due to the battery; especially since you just swapped it out, it might not be making clean contact.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I loaded my 2011 Interseries Cayman S race car into my trailer, forgot to remove the key (or pull the battery cut off), so after 2 weeks needless to say the battery was dead. I tried to jump the battery - didn't work, figured it might be too dead, so bought a new battery, same deal. When I put the key in the igition my odometer comes on, my Aim MXL dash comes on. Dash says it sees "key 2". when I turn the key I get nothing - fuel guage doesn't come on, no starter, nothing. I checked all the fuses, all still good. tried to connect Durametic, but no power to OBD2 port. It is like the ignition is not going to the "on" position. I've seen issues with ignition switch, but don't want to just start throwing parts at it, but since I don't get any guages or OBD I am thinking it isn't going into "on" position. Other option I am thinking is there is a problem with it talking to the immobilizer but it says it sees the key on the dash so leaning away from that (or really hoping). Any help? Thanks

POST 2Original post

I'd start with thoroughly cleaning the terminal leads and the battery ground. Strange electrical things can happen due to the battery; especially since you just swapped it out, it might not be making clean contact.

POST 3Original post

Nope, did that - twice, and they looked like new before I cleaned them, then did it a second time just to make sure.

POST 4Original post

So just a note to clear the issue My steering lock module was not communicating to the immobilizer. Indie was able to re-aquaint the 2 modules, plus I have a new lock module. The steering lock module needs to be programmed with the PIWIS however, so not a simple fix on your own.

our machines can be quite complicated - glad you got it sorted out pmp18....

POST 6Original post

Did you have any ignition lights. Mine puts the seething lock off but no ignition lights, and can’t get to the bottom of it
