Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

when starting at roughtly -15 started rough, took a while to warm up and check oil level, but even after warmup, still shows the "check engine" yellow dash light and the message to take in for servicing.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

car has been sitting for a while over winter. had to move it to another garage. when starting at roughtly -15 started rough, took a while to warm up and check oil level, but even after warmup, still shows the "check engine" yellow dash light and the message to take in for servicing. car only had 17,000 miles. how will this error reset? or will i haveto take it in for someting. I figured it was just too cold at first... but msg won't go away.
any idea. about clearing code, or what it might be?
Hi and welcome to 911uk.
It could be any one of a number of things: a failed sensor is the most likely if the car has been sitting for a while, although it could also be the onset of something more serious (hopefully not!). You need to get the Porsche Hammer (diagnostics tool) to be plugged into your car to determine what the cause of the problem is. An independent is your best bet.

Hi Adrien's diagnosis I think is spot on, it will most likely either be a signal from the Intake Air Mass Flow Sensor, or one of the Oxygen Sensors in one or both of the the 2 Catalysers. I suspect that the fine wires in the Air Mass Flow Sensor have got a bit of contamination on them from the car standing etc. It can be cleaned anbd the fault switched off.
My experience with OPCs is positive so depending where you nearest one is relative to a good independent take your choice.
If you are near Bournemouth I can fully recommend Bournemouth Porsche.

cold start "check engine"
Thanks everyone for your comments. This spring I will get the diagnostic checked out at the dealer. Since these sorts of errors may occur sometimes.
Would it be advantageous to buy an OBDII reader, simpy to help me cancel the codes myself when necessary? someone mentioned the Porsche Hammer Diag. But how about a cheaper OBDII reader from ebay?
worth it or not?
Thanks
AJ
