This is not a probability of success.

maybe the x50...more likely the gt2...otherwise not comparable to a 930 marketwise.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I know that it is too soon to tell, but do you feel that the 996 Turbo could be the next great coveted Porsche Turbo ? I recently reviewed and drove the 996 Turbo owned by a buddy of mine, coincidently, previously owned by a local celebrity here in Edmonton (ex PRO HOCKEY PLAYER).
I was surprised how great that car is, and I don't feel that it lost much of the Porsche essence. I absolutely LOVED it ! Is it better than my beloved 930 ? Maybe.
Cheers and what are your thoughts ?

The 2005 Turbo S is also bringing quite a premium over the 996 Turbo X50 even though technically it's the same car (but with PCCBs). I think apart from the GT3 and GT2, that will also be quite a coveted model, especially if you can find a hardtop model. I think there were only a couple hundred hardtop Turbo S made.
2005 turbo S also has gt3 oil pump and I believe there was something else on the inside but i cannot seem to recall also bigger turbos, intercoolers, better exhaust.
As a new owner of a 2005 TTS (vert), I hope you're right. I've read all sorts of things from different synchros to gt2 HP levels (while Porsche claims 444) to gt2 transmission coolers but I've found nothing to back any of it up. All I can find after reading lots of threads on rennlist and 6speed is pccb, white face gauges, green windshield tint and lots of extra S

to the original question, yes...the 996tt is the next one to soar. It needs to hurry up though because these depressed prices allow in some that arent as equipped or interested in maintenance.
The last part, that signalMTB brings up is a fear. Much like the 928 or XJS....if it stays depressed too long then maintenance becomes that of a cheap depreciating car. And just too expensive to bring back from dead.
Don'f forget with the turbo came Porsche's first cup holders too!!! 2001 rocked the world, lol
