Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

11 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

Before I left for spring break with the family, I drove my car and inadvertantly leftthe V1 on. It drained the battery to nothing. I did not notice this until I put the key in the ignition. No power and now the key is stuck in the ignition. How do you remedy this? I read the manual but do not have a spare battery on hand to use to open the hood. Any other wat to open it? i tried to hook the battery charger up to the hood designater as per the manual - but it did not work? Any ideas? Will a jumper from the cig lighter work? Otherwise I wll buy a new battery and use that to open the hood to acxess the battery so I can charge it. Thanks SB

POST 2Original post

I wish I could answer some of your questions, but I can't, however I would suggest hardwiring your V1. It is easy to do by using the fuse box only. Good luck, Russ

POST 3Original post

You should be able to follow the directions in the manual with either a donor battery from another car or a charger. Just take it slow and read the directions and I bet you get it to work.

POST 4Original post

Will one of those portable chargers work? Otherwise I will buy a spare battery to use for this. Seems pretty easy to hook up, i just do not have a spare battery hanging around. Pure operator ignorance that lead to this. Anyone know if it will affect the electronics? Sb

POST 5Original post

Surely you must have another auto around from a friend or someone. Porsche batterys are around $300. Should not bother the electronics and normal charger will work (always handy to have). Good luck and lets us know how you come out. Porsche Roadside Assistance will also provide a fix. They say that this is the most common request that they have.

POST 6Original post

Can't you just jump start it like any other car

POST 7Original post

I left the radio on overnight and woke up to a dead battery the next day. Called Porsche roadside assistance, and he couldn't get it started with one of those portable things. He told me even if he did get it started, I would need to drive it for about 45 minutes to get the battery charged. I thought about all the ways that could go bad, and I agreed to have them put it on the back of a of a flat bed and took it to the dealer, where it stayed over night. It was embarrasing. Now, I'm pretty careful with the radio

My radio doesn't turn on without the key in the ignition

POST 9Original post

Does your radio turn off when you turn off your ignition? Russ

POST 11Original post

Mine Shuts Off My radio / CD player turns off when the key is removed too. It is the Bose & single CD setup.
