Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Suggestion
Everyone is pointing out how to use the factory controls to lower the seat, but I think the question is how to get the factory sport seat to sit lower than the adjustments allow.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Guys,
Has anyone modified the frame of the hard back seats to lower the height? You can't drive the GT2 sitting that high. I don't want to replace the seats.
Thanks
Take a good look at the side of your seat where the one lever is located and see if there is a hole forward of that. If there is, you are missing the lever!
I will send a picture.

I looked into this because I'm rather tall and don't have any headroom in the 996, and I don't think there is much that can be done. Sure you could cut up the floor and mount the sliders a bit lower, but that would be costly, and I'm not sure how much room could be gained. Going with the center console delete and assuming a more inclined driving position is probably going to be the best bet. Or a set of aftermarket seats could possibly be a solution, but I know some of them actually sit higher.
OP - From my experience the only way to lower a factory 996 seat is to shave down the lower cushion. An auto upholstery shop may be able to fabricate a cushion for you.
