Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I'll have to check the build sheet on that one and see what it says.

Thanks for that, I wonder why they would use LED & LE interchangeably?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've searched online and have found many code keys, but none of them include the same designation as what is on my build sheet. For the intetior code, it just says "BL" which shade of gray do I have?

POST 2Original post

Full (as in front and rear seats) leather in black according to https://www.renovation-du-cuir.fr/en...-codes_92.html

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Interesting. I never would have guessed this color would be listed as black. This is on my '99, and the color to me is more of a gray. Especially when compared to the carpet or the exterior color. My 2000 has what I would consider a "black" intetior. I'll have to check the build sheet on that one and see what it says. I'll post it in a little bit.

POST 4Original post

I have a 99 too and interior code BQ, I.e. space grey, seats however carry code EAF that cross references (acc to Adrian Streather's book on the 996) to black leather. They are indeed darker than yours, but not full-on black. Thinking the leather was space grey, I bought leather paint in that colour and it was not correct for my seats. It does look very much like your leather seats, though. Tbh I doubt the two letter code describes leather colours as the linked site makes us believe... Get the full print out of your car with all numbers and codes to find the 3 letter upholstery code and go from there to identify the leather colour.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Here is my 2000. It is VERY black. I'll have to go to the dealer like you suggested.

POST 6Original post

These are the codes for my interior when I had my VIN decoded. As you can see there are many additional codes not listed on the hood sticker.

For anybody's info: KL=Kunstleder, I.e. leatherette/artificial leather LED=Leder, I.e. genuine leather (hide). LE=Leder, see above LA=Lack/lackiert, I.e. painted

Thanks for that, I wonder why they would use LED & LE interchangeably? Maybe it has something to do with the coding for different departments on the production line?

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I haven't gotten the full build sheet yet, but I gave my vin to a parts supplier and they said my trim is C50, which is graphite gray. Unfortunately, there's also a C51 graphite gray, which was used in 2000 and later model years. They said the parts they had wouldn't be an exact match. I may order a used trim piece and see how close of a match it is.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
