I am taking my Cayman on some long trips this year and have made some upgrades to help ease the driving on the way.
1st I purchased a new phone, LG ENV, that also doubles as a Speaker Phone, Stereo MP3 player(1 gig), IM, text message, Navigation and email device. When I get the Denison in place i will be able to pipe music from MP3 from the phone to the speakers. And when I receive a phone call it auto pauses and I can either flip open to talk on speaker phone or use the bluetooth stero headset or ear bub.
2nd I purchased a NEW ProClip,
http://www.proclipusa.com/home/home.aspx?afid=42&admkt=335ebbca
, that holds the Phone in place during driving. I will post some pictures of this clip in action.
I also bought one for my truck and the phone is interchangeable between the two vehicles.
The clip in the car can easily be removed with no damage to the car dash.
Lastly I have a video of the clip is use but I could not figure out how to post, upload to the site, or upload to my own web space. Is it because it is an AVI?
I wanted to show the video so that everyone can see how easy it is to use, swivel, push buttons while driving.

Mount in the truck

Looks good William. The ProClip will also work well with the Nuvi GPS.
Hey, thanks for this post. I hadn't noticed that ProclipUSA had released a new 'center mount' clip that was compatible with the Cayman (they used to only have the 'angled mount'). Looks like I've found the ideal mount for my satellite radio tuner.
Proclip
I di dnot like the Angle mount, it would rub up agaisnt people's legs AND there was a potential for missmatched color were the mount would of covered a long strip of the leather by the passenger leg.
This new mount JUST came out and I have to say it is painless to put in and take out. I might just buy another female adapter and attach to the back of the NUVI also.
b8Factor, thanks this post just cost me $68.00!
Looks like a great solution for my nuvi.
Video of ProClip in use.
I could nto figure out how to get the video to play in the post so here is it uploaded on YouTube

The song playing is the speaker phone playing a MP3, not connected to the car speakers yet. It's pretty impressive in person. That phone rocks!
Pro Clip and NUVI 660
I had the original lower dash "angled" pro-clip mount and it was not very good. I tried painting it becuase otherwise it was very obvious. The position of the NUVI was too close to the gear lever. Basically, not a good solution.
The new mount (higher on dash as pictured) is secure and does not distract from the interior. It does partially block the vent. The steering wheel also blocks visability of the NUVI partially. All in all though, a good, easy to install and secure solution. There is room behind the back of the center console (close to firewall) to snake the power cord and then tuck the power cord under the dash pieces so that the power from the 12 volt adapter (passenger footwell) to the NUVI is pretty much invisable.
I wish, however, they would also offer a similar mount for the passenger side. This would limit the use of the cup holder, but for some better visability and easier use of the NUVI would be an acceptable trade off.
I agree
I agree about the side angle mount. I passed on it and just for grins checked their site again when I got my phone and was happy to see another solution.
I almost bought a cup holder mount. It has a mini cup bottom with a mount out the top. Perfect solution if you do not use it every day but only for long trips. When you put the NUVI away you just put the cup holder back in its storage position. The reason i decided not to is that I was concerned about the cup holder breaking from something and did not want to risk it.
The ProClip does have a horizontal extension I decided not to use with the phone, the phone buttons are in perfect place for my hands and I can still reach all console controls. But if you wanted to move the device to the right, it is easy to do.
Another solution, and the one I may take if I decide I want the NUVI more to the right or more up is this. Install the proclip with a Female mount on it. Then fabricate with ABS plastic (couple bucks) and a dremel an arm that will position the NUVI anywhere i want. Then attach the NUVI on the fabricated arm and the MALE mount on the back of the arm. Now when you unattach the NUVI you actually take the arm with it to "clean up" the aesthetics.
The fabricated arm could go straight up and show the NUVI just to the right above the wheel, or right a few inches and up to show it in front of the stop watch.
That is why I chose the ProCLip, since it just comes with a flat plate you can drill holes in you can do what ever you want. The pictures I show I actual relocated the female phone mount below their pre-drilled holes, then Dremeled off the excess plate to make it very low profile.
