if it is a signal can I run power directedly to the motors and keep the chip in place so the window goes down when you open the door?

I picked up a clean 996 shell, it was a deal that I could not pass up. I plan to make it into a street/ track day car. The car was a C4 and will most likely convert it back at some point it would be a fun winter beater. I am undecided on the engine. My list I'm considering in order is K24 turbo, LS or wrx sti. Anyways I don't know if I'm not using the correct search terms or not but I can't seam to find a compleat list of what the immobilizer does. I have read it controls the fuel pump, door locks and alarm and the starter. and that it may control the power windows and lights. Ideally would like to use most of the 996 wiring harness. The engine and gauges will be on a stand alone harness. Things I need to know Will the power windows work with out the immobilizer? I know there are two micro switches on the inner and outer door handle that rolls the window down when you open the door. From what I have read that part works with out the immobilizer? Does the immobilizer send a signal to the window motor chips or is it power to them? if it is a signal can I run power directedly to the motors and keep the chip in place so the window goes down when you open the door? How does it control the lights, does it control all of them? interior and exterior. Does it control the abs or does the ecu control it or does it have its own controller? Does any thing control the Hvac or is it just the controls? I plan on the standalone ecu to control the radiator fans and fuel pump. Do the door locks use a signal or is it power? Will the head light switch work? Will the turn signal switch work? How does the ignition switch work? Does and one have simplified wiring diagrams that tells what wire does what? Thanks in advance
