I figured it out it is a test port and does not need to be plugged into anything.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have been rebuilding a 99 911 C2 Cab that had an engine fire I had to repair the rear body harness and most of the sensors. I am left with a connector off the rear body harness. When I went to the wiring diagram for the 996 it refers to it as the automated exhaust gas recirculation examination This connector comes off the pigtail that passes through the bulkhead. I just don't have a place to plug this connector into. Can anyone help me identify this? and what it plugs into. Thanks Bill

POST 2Original post

Try reading the Porsche part number (996-----) of this connector, if you can find it, Then put that number into the Pelican search function and see what comes up.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I looked for a 996 part number but there is not one on it. I don't think I mentioned that it's on the right hand side (passenger) near the two circular main engine connectors that connect to the engine harness.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I figured it out it is a test port and does not need to be plugged into anything.

POST 5Original post

Sorry, I can't help you much. I checked PET, but I could not find that part. My 2003 C2 coupe seems to have a similar connector that is plugged into a black connector block just to the right of the right side motor mount. It seems to be related to the right rear lighting, but I cannot be sure. Six connector points, but only three wires used.
