I never thought much of it but it really does cut in to the leg room considerably, I had a heavy set 6' + guy in the car with me yesterday and he had a big problem fitting yet he didn't in my last CS without

Sorry if its been discussed, I searched for " bose sound system carpeting", and a few variations of the same, but I couldn't find it. I was looking at the Cayman Tequipment page, and found this for floor mats: "A precise color and quality match for your Cayman S with the BOSE sound system carpeting" Is there special carpet? Or are the floor mats cut differently? I think I paid $115 or so as an option, and the price is $95 if I would've bought afterwards?!? John

The floor mats are cut differently on the passenger side bececause of the subwoofer in the left-side of the footwell. I never thought much of it but it really does cut in to the leg room considerably, I had a heavy set 6' + guy in the car with me yesterday and he had a big problem fitting yet he didn't in my last CS without Bose . - Suneet

ndporsche, Building on suneet's reponse, the passenger carpet is cut differently. If you seach Weathertech's web site for aftermarket Cayman mats, it asks if your car is equipped with a BOSE unit . There's a surprising difference between the BOSE and non- BOSE mats.

Thanks guys- I thought it would've been pretty cool to have some special acoustically enhanced carpet! If anyone was going to do it, I thought Porsche could've. I'll take the space "hit" to have the Bose . After reading the other posts about how some people liked it and some didn't, my standard was set pretty low. I'm pretty happy with the Bose so far. But, also like some others had mentioned, I'm more excited about the engine sounds than I thought I would be too.
