This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

When I go over a severe rut in the road, I hear a noise as though the engine cover is banging on the body ??? As though it is not a tight fit and yet there is no movement when you try and move it by hand. Anyone else have this noise ?? or know what it could be if it isn`t the cover Thanks Steve

POST 2Original post

I'd suspect its something else... possibly rear suspension bushings?

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I`ll get them checked out ! It really does sound like the engine cover though and only over severe ruts ! Very metallic noise Steve

POST 4Original post

Exhaust heat shields?....they were loose on my car when I bought it and can easily corrode if you have them fitted :?:

POST 5Original post

How do you know if your suspension bushings are in need of replacing? My car feels v.firm at the rear, but thought this was just normal. Just wondering if the bushes might need replacing? Cars done 69K miles. What sort of cost are the bushes? Taran :?:
