Read evidence and context

Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Saw these tire rub marks on front Bilstein B8 Eibachs. Standard sized tires 235 40 18. Guessing this is from full lock turns. Will check later. Any experience. ? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Maybe the photography or my not enough coffee at insomnia thirty but is possible that strut is bent?

POST 3Original post

You're not the one... OP - been hitting any pot holes lately? Had super low tire pressures? Running cheap tires with tons of sidewall flex? Or are there wear marks where the strut slides in to the steering knuckle indicating that the strut has been moving vertically?

POST 4Original post

PS If you are getting under it like this please put a safety jack stand under it, two or three? Even better

POST 5Original post

Are you running camber plates and or LCA arms tipping the wheel inwards for tooo much negative camber? Those stock wheels and tire sizes should never rub unless it’s the above mentioned

POST 6Original post

Likely that the strut has slipped down in the wheel carrier. There is a tab on the back side of the strut that keeps it from being installed to low, but the tab is easily bent with a hard impact or jacking up the control arm with the clamping bolt loose.

POST 7Original post

JB, how old and how many KM's are the B8's? do you hear any sounds and if so when?
