i checked the owners manual and it seems pretty straight forward to replace, does anyoneknow of any pitfalls or tips?

Suggestion

Be carefull when replacing the headlight as it's easy to get it wrong.

Suggestion

I can't remember which brand make them, but there's a decent bulb made by either Philips or Osram which replaces the OE bulb with a much better output.
