Have you checked all the usual causes for the horn sounding after locking?

very odd, you would need to take open up the inside of the door to replace the CL part that has most likely failed

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Having said that, I have managed to lock it for now by pressing the lock button through an open window and then shutting the window using the key. This has left the passenger side door unlocked, but it is right up against a wall, and the alarm sounds if you open it, so secure enough for tonight!
has anyone had this problem and know a cure:
press the lock button, or turn the key in the lock, and the car locks and then immediately unlocks - sounding the horn twice.
It says in the handbook that this is a fault with the C/L or alarm system and to take it straight to an OPC, hand over wallet, remove trousers, bend down, etc...
Is there a less painful (financially, physically, and mentally) way of fixing this?
Did that and with one of the two fuses the alarm went off and I couldn't stop it
Brought half the neighbours out to see if their cars were being nicked!
Pressed buttons, started car, turned key in lock, pressed more buttons and still the bloody alarm was going off - no idea what stopped it, but thankfully it did just before my eardrums burst.
I think it is alarm related rather than locking as I can lock and unlock the doors from inside the car (and removing the other central locking fuse didn't stop it).
It was really wierd being able to drive the car with the alarm going though!
When unlocked/unalarmed does it act like a door is open even though the doors are shut? You'd notice the courtesy lights stay on for yonks unless you start the engine. Mine turns off within about 2mins.
No - it's weird, never seen anything like it before... The car locks and interior lights go out, then it immediately unlocks and switches the interior lights on again. Then the strange thing is, the lights go out again very quickly then you get the double horn beep and the doors remain unlocked, but the red alarm light starts flashing :?
Well I'm not sleeping in the bloody car for her
Just tried again and managed to get it to lock properly somehow... Not at all sure if I can replicate the sequence of key turning and button pressing, but the alarm hasn't gone off yet and it appears to be locked and alarmed!
Probably go off at about 3:00 am or something!
had exactly same problem and turned out to be mixture of ignition switch and roller at top of ignition barrel. car thought that key was still in ignition so would unlock car again
You are a star... that makes sense 'cos that's exactly what happens if you leave the key in the ignition and try to lock it with the other key (as I found out today)
Thank goodness I didn't start stripping door trims and fuse boxes etc. - which was the next part of the plan!
Did it need a new ignition switch / barrel? Or was it a case of a bit of grease and gentle application of the Birmingham screwdriver or something?
