Halfords do a "Rally" bulb (H7) which is rated at 80W - seems like a good idea to increase brightness but will they draw too much current for the fuse / wiring - they recommend a 20 amp fuse.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Halfords do a "Rally" bulb (H7) which is rated at 80W - seems like a good idea to increase brightness but will they draw too much current for the fuse / wiring - they recommend a 20 amp fuse. Anyone fitted them and if so is all well?

POST 2Original post

will you will need a bigger fuse as it will blow but 55w is the max road legal limit IIRC but then again not like the Rozzers will be out chekcing better to get xenons

POST 3Original post

I used to run 100/130W in a previous car but with glass lenses. Plastic can tend to not enjoy the extra heat so there is that risk. Agree with Sundeep, save your money towards Xenon for a real improvement. You will see little to no improvement going to 80W....

POST 5Original post

oh, and by Xenon we mean the real deal, high voltage, balast kit - HID, not the standard bulbs with Xenon gas in them....

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ooops! Just bought Halfords Xenons - although they are advertised as 50% brighter - wrong ones I guess!
