Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I would like to paint the covers to the door storage compartments. How on earth do you remove them. Any ideas? Richard Griffin

POST 2Original post

It's actually quite simple. All you need to do is lift the door bin lid to the up position, and then you'll see two hinges (front and rear). Use a paper clip or hole punch to push out the plastic pin in the hinges, and then pull them out with needle nosed pliers. The rear hinge also has a spring which you can carefully remove before releasing the lid covers. That's it. Good luck.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thank you very much for your help! It worked like a charm. Looking at your signature, I see that your console and bumprettes are painted also. What kind of paint did you use for the interior? How about for the bumprettes? I got some silver paint which I thought would be the same as the door pulls, but turned out it wasn't. I have a black car, and the bumprettes are that nasty dull rubber. Thanks again, Richard Griffin

POST 4Original post

Unfortunately, not being very handy with paintwork, I had to buy all of my painted pieces for my car. Glad the removal of the door lid covers worked out for you. Interior painted pieces: Painted bumperettes:

POST 5Original post

the color on the vehicle purchased looks like artic silver I painted some pieces on my 02 boxter S with this it was around $25 a can @ http://www.paintscratch.com I think I painted the 2 door pieces in question the side AC vents the dash and console trim as well as the the whole armrest/middle assembly with 3 cans, just make sure you prime it and wet sand it all with like 1000 grit sandpaper
