I will definitely be using Northway for all my servicing and problems in the future.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi - Can anyone help me. I recently fitted an OE battery into my 2002 996 C4 which has PCM1. Now the radio is asking for a new PCM code, which I have and which my Porsche dealer has confirmed is correct. Problem is, it doesn't work. It asks me to enter again and eventually locks me out! Has anyone got any ideas
Thanks in advance
Mark
There are actually two codes that you need - you should have two little 'credit cards' with your car for this: One is labelled [CODE CARD PCM] and the other is [CODE CARD Navigation] and both have a 4 digit code. IIRC you need the PCM one first, then it will ask for the Navigation one (I think!)
Good luck
Noticed that I dont have this "code card" with the car. Any idea how to source it ?
I guess OPC is the common route - rough idea on the
System is currently working at moment, but thinking about what would happen should battery replacement be carried out ect.
Also- a quick way to find out the current PCM version is to press MAIN+INFO together. This will pull up a hidden below with the PCM, serial number etc..
Many thanks for all the advice. I took it and eventually ended up at Porsche Reading. It turns out that I had the Navi code and not the PCM code. Porsche put this in for meand although it took them 45 minutes to sort it, they charged me nothing!! However, now it gets trickier. Much as they sorted it out, I now have no sound out of the system whatsoever and it doesn't see the CD stacker either - which isn't powered up and I therefore can't remove any CD's that are in it. Not only is there no sound, but the radio can't pick up any radio stations. It is nice driving along listening to the engine, but I would like to get this sorted. To me, it sounds like a fuse, but I have checked them all, and they are fine - any ideas anyone??
All the best
Mark
When I needed a new battery, the guy that changed it kept the car 'plugged in' by connecting one of those jump-start kits to the terminals before he removed the battery. Thus, no need to reset anything... cunning I thought.
Well spotted Ducati999. I ended up ringing Northway who suggested I bring the car over for them to take a look at it. It took them all of a minute to diagnose and fix the problem, and then they refused to let me pay them. What a great bunch of guys!
I will definitely be using Northway for all my servicing and problems in the future.
Thanks everyone for all your help and suggestions and thanks Northway
