I used Lamin-x to tint my taillights which is also a good product.

It’s a cheap option and all the reflection makes them look a little more modern without changing history or the thickness of your wallet

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

1 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1Original post

Alright everyone, I love my Boxster 987.1 but I feel the rear lights look a bit dated, so I'm looking to change the rear lights to the Led type. Any recommendations?

POST 2Original post

All the LED's for 987.1 look terrible. Ebayracing. Don't do it. Polish them up. Install LED bulbs with canbus correct resistors if you have to..... (still not recommended) Sent from my SM-G991W using Tapatalk

POST 3Original post

I just tinted mine. Generally doing this isn’t my thing but it really helped the look. In the sun it’s not all that dark . I did a two step 15% and 30% which is pretty light. In the sun they look dark red, inside they look smoked. It gets rid of that bicycle reflector red dated look and it helps continue that broken fender line and look more symmetrical or continuous. It’s really easy too. I did mine still bolted to the car. It’s a cheap option and all the reflection makes them look a little more modern without changing history or the thickness of your wallet

POST 5Original post

It actually looks pretty decent buddy! Is your one a 987.2 model? Mine is the 987.1 so it has the white reversing light on top which is why I'm not sure how it would look after being tinted 🤷‍♂️

POST 6Original post

I think they sell a kit to do it. It looks like the Carrera GT tails… Thanks!! Tinting them is easy. Use the Vvivid brand… good stuff

POST 7Original post

I used Lamin-x to tint my taillights which is also a good product. Not sure how the price compares between the two. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

POST 8Original post

Both are pretty cheap. 12x 5’ should easily do it. I’d leave lights in place and stick it on. Much easier when you don’t have to hold the bessel. Get it started on the outer and pull it into place, hair dryer and knife is all you need
