Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

This after I swapped my black mirror bottoms with somebody's silvers.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

After years of requests, I have finally created a fitted vinyl accent kit for the mirror bottoms. The goal was an EASY, and removable alternative to painting your side mirrors. This is a computer cut kit using dry application air release vinyl. No need to use water for the installation.
No need to remove the mirrors.
No cutting.
No stretching.
No bubbles.
5-10 minute total project time.
Kit includes 1 left, 1 right, 1 application squeegee.
I designed this decal set from my
2007 Cayman S
. According to the factory lower mirror arm part info for my car, this will fit:
Boxster
2005-2008
Cayman
2006-2008
Carrera
2005-2008
I would like to get an idea of the demand for color options so I can get the materials and price accordingly. I'm assuming Gloss Black, Red, and Silver will be the most popular options.
Examples:
If the only difference between the 1st gen and 2nd gen is a screw hole, that will make things easy. Anyone know if it is the same deal with the 997's?
I will be stocked up and have them available on the website by the end of
next
week.
Totally recommend the lower mirror arm mod. Here's a pic (others in my gallery) on my gone but not forgotten
Boxster
. The stripe is the
Spyder
stripe from Kyle. If I hadn't already gone with the Techart inserts on my
Cayman
(see link in sig), I would get this new product from Kyle for the
Cayman
. The mirror arms are subtle but cool.
Hi Kyle,
How hard is it t make one for the top portion considering all the curves? I was going to take mine out and paint it but if vinyl is an option, I'd rather do that instead.
Thank you sir!
It takes 5 minutes to remove a mirror ( I am doing different mirrors so I learned this) and with them off I think this is very manageable to do to those of us without K1s mad skills.
I removed the mirrors in order to make the kit. I broke a clip on the inside bottom part of the mirror housing, but super glue saved the day. The first mirror was scary, the 2nd mirror went fast with no problems. If you wanted to order a couple sheets of material and a squeegee so you can take them apart and wrap them your self we can do that. However, if you don't have vinyl wrapping experience, you may be happier with the results of the pre-cut kit.
Gloss black, matte black, silver, and carbon fiber will arrive tomorrow. I will update the website later this week so they will be available to order. I will remove mine and record a how-to video this weekend.
What is the color of the trim at the bottom front of the car, because that's the color I'd like to match. I have atlas gray, and the trim looks like some sort of silver - not sure if all cars share the same color for that trim element.

For you first gen 987 owners, your mirror trim kits are now available on the KI Studios website. To show my appreciation for your feedback, I am discounting the price for the first week. $55 for the pair and a vinyl application squeegee.
Next
week they will go to the normal price of $65. ($10 extra for the carbon fiber vinyl)
By popular demand, they are available in gloss black, matte black, carbon fiber black, gloss silver, gloss red, and matte gun metallic metal. (still working on a gloss anthracite equivalent wrap film)

I would like to hear your feedback if there is anything I can add to the instructions to make it more clear that would help. Sometimes accidents happen, even when you have been doing it for 13 years. Send me a PM or email to

and I'll get you fixed up with a replacement piece if you would like to give it another go.
Headlight trim is a wet application. The mirror trim being on a round mirror, is a dry application wrap film. The wrap films have air release channels on the adhesive side.
Again I'll ask the question....
This "poll" asks a short question about mirror colors...based on what?
What exactly are we supposed to be voting on? Where are the photos? What model car? What color? I'm not voting anymore on these things until someone tells me where the actual Poll photos reside on this site.
I think half the people voting just pick a color without knowing where the car is. AFTER I VOTE, sometimes, I am transported to the page where the photos are. Nice to see what I just voted for!!!
Ken? What's up with that?
