I am looking at carbon fiber dash trim, center console, and various other interior trim pieces. I've seen plenty of the black CF interior pieces in many shades of interior colors and they look amazing.
DB Carbon has options for black, silver, or custom color in high gloss or matte finish. However, the pictures of the silver CF pieces are very limited. I was hoping someone has purchased silver CF trim (high gloss or matte) and has pictures they would share.
This is for a cocoa full leather interior on a
2008 Cayman S
.
Thanks,
Forrest
It sounds terrible...

The silver carbon with cocoa leather?
Forrest, Personally I like to put my
Boxster
money into performance, like
tires
or service. However, life is shorter than we realize and finding fleeting joy is not easy. So if you like this idea and you are modding the car for your enjoyment (not to turn around and expect a premium at sales time) then go for it. I did a lot of mods on my
986
and I'd have it still if circumstances had been different. My only advise is make every mod so meticulous that only
Porsche
enthusiasts even know it's not a factory choice and always remember each one is for you only.
Thanks for the words of advice Boristhespyder. I agree money is better spent on performance and maintaining the car. This CF trim is just an idea I had and I was hoping to see some higher resolution photos of the silver in a
Porsche
. The black CF would likely look better (as CarGuyNeil might be suggesting) but, I just want to see if someone has done the silver and what it looks like. I would certainly be meticulous in this mod if I were to do it. It would be for my benefit, not adding value to the car.
DB Carbon products seem to be high quality and OEM comparable. If there is a better choice I'd be happy to hear about it.
I have to agree to focus on performance. Unless something just bugs you. My interior is so nice as is, why change it up. Now my Subarus those interiors are not great so I have done some mods but try to limit the cost. If the silver carbon was cheap I would do it on my
981
and replace the silver parts but I think it’s pretty pricey. For those prices I can get a tune or
tires
or new wheels. You get the idea. But of course it’s your car and I know the feeling of wanting to make it your own. I have a bad case of the mods myself, but I am resisting the best I can on the
981
. It’s really great as is.
