This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

8 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was out driving today in a 996turbo . Put my foot down and a small bang, since when I now get no bar pressure and just get a whizzing sound when I put my foot down. Has the turbo blown up ?? or has some tube burst?? Can anyone help thanks.

POST 3Original post

Pipe blown off? It's not unheard of for the large inlet manifold rubber pipe to come unhooked during hard acceleration, especially if it's a re mapped car.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

yes I have had a look, not easy to tell if any pipes have come off, can the turbocharger blow up??

POST 5Original post

If there is a whizzing sounds like the turbo is there still - most probably a hose.

POST 6Original post

Most likely a hose. A turbo tends not to just go bang and then nothing, it's generally a lot more involved i.e. lots of white smoke, sounds of bearing grinding/rattling. As Vlad says, sounds like turbo is still spining so check all hose connections. Hayden

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

thanks for your help, I have managed to find that the main right hose from the turbo to right wheel arch has detached, spent a while but have reconnected. Cost zero!!!!!!!! Thought it could be horrendous
