Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

0 discussions have direct query context; 0 report a fix in that context. Other evidence may inherit the discussion’s subject.
Suggestion
You could confirm this by checking the state of the interior light....
Leading evidence: 'Check state of the interior light' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check state of the interior light' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Went into work this morning and when I closed the door on the car the window had already gone up?
If I pull the handle inside or outside the window goes down a fraction like it should, but if I let go of the handle the window pops up even with the door still open. This is not correct, so now I have to shut the door with the handle up and synchronize letting go of the handle when the door is in the correct position.
Any ideas to what has happened? What have I broken?
Regards,
Neil
Hi Neil,
Very strange! I haven't heard that happening before, I'd get it checked out by your local OPC, hopefully it's just a simple problem to rectify
Neil, with the key turned to position 1 lower and raise the windows on the switches a couple of times.
This should reset them so they only raise that last little bit when the door shuts.
I did read about this somewhere. It knows the door is open based on the door switch. There is a handle switch which in your case must be working, but this would therefore indicate the switch that senses when the door is closed is stuck in the closed position.
I haven't looked into where this switch is but I think it is tied into the lock mechanism. I actually think I have this problem with the hood on my car as my interior light won't come on even though the bulb is fine....
The fact you say it does drop down so you can open the door indicates the handle switch is working. The fact you then see it rise back up before it's closed indicates the switch embedded in the locking mechanism is not changing state from what it thinks is the closed position. You could confirm this by checking the state of the interior light....
I have looked through the workshop manual at both the door section and the wiring diagram to confirm this. What happens with the passenger door out of curiosity and the interior light on the bad side?
You got it in one! Very good. Easily sourced as Sundeep says. Will be expensive. Maybe pull apart the door to see if you can fix it or get a breakers one / second hand.
More than likely you'll have to buy the whole unit which has the switch, lock etc all as one part.... The dealer will be able to tell you.... might be easy to fix when you pull it apart if you're that way inclined.
