Ah, one more thing - check if the slave clutch cylinder has been replaced/fixed at some stage.

Suggestion

For reference, my car had basically only been treated to a routine yearly service for the last 10 years and was running a bit rough and lower revs.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

If one was considering this Turbo, given its travelled the equivalent of around 3/4 of the way to the moon... what should one look out for to ensure it completes its journey and happily is able to return to earth 😁 https://www.trademe.co.nz/a/motors/cars/porsche/other/listing/4027189489?bof=rN2dXh5U

POST 2Original post

Wow! I bought a 996 turbo with 180,000km...and I thought that was super high They are reliable cars, as long as they are loved - so the big question...how does the service history look? For reference, my car had basically only been treated to a routine yearly service for the last 10 years and was running a bit rough and lower revs. So on the engine side of things I did the following : Replaced : MAF sensor MAP sensor O2 sensors Diverter Valves Spark plugs Coil packs Airfilter Standard Intercoolers (I'll get nice ones at a later stage) Variocam solenoid brackets ( guide ) Oil and Oil filter Cleaned the throttle body ( guide ) So you would want to see some of the stuff in it's history, especially coils and plugs. You would also want to see suspension components being replaced at some stage in the not so distant past (coffin arms etc) Basically...you want to see that someone has spent money on it. Good luck!

POST 3Original post

Asteroids, meteors, alien space craft and 'The Man' Other than that, if it is not broken it probably does not need fixing.

POST 4Original post

Ah, one more thing - check if the slave clutch cylinder has been replaced/fixed at some stage. It's a ***** to fix so hopefully someone has done it already. At that mileage you can be sure it will have had that issue, or still has it.
