Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have just achieved a life-time ambition and purchased my first Porsche, a 996 with tiptronic, in Lapis Blue/Black leather. My budget only got me a late 2000, which is the reason for this message. I would like to update the antique cassette storage facility in the centre console- So can anybody tell me if its possible to remove it? and if so how? and can it be replaced with an open compartment/tray? Is there an update kit? thanks

POST 2Original post

Hi - and congratulations! I think there are some parts manuals on the Porsche website now - these have exploded diagrams to minimise the critical bits of plastic you snap and I think they show alternatives.... don't have the link handy unfortunately. Charlie
