Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

To have sucessfully nailed the droning issue is a huge perk.
Leading evidence: 'huge perk' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'huge perk' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check back' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

If there is going to be a Miltek group buy, perhaps I should get my check back.

If I read the Milltek site correctly these actually remove the second set of cats ( the back cats) and replace with more effective, high flow units.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Milltek is the first I know of to have solved this problem, but I'm sure others will once they see how the Milltek system is designed.
Milltek has a long standing history with Audi and more recently has gotten in Porsches. Some other Porsche tuners have not yet created a Cayman exhaust, or they are reselling Boxster exhausts for the Cayman or they are reselling someone else's exhaust with their stamp on it. I'm sure we'll see more systems as time goes along, nearly all of the first generation products (like Tubi, Fabspeed, etc.) have resonance issues between 2k and 4k. Milltek is the first I know of to have solved this problem, but I'm sure others will once they see how the Milltek system is designed.
No idea, group buys vary by product and vendor, only stratmosphere can answer that. They are a sponsor here so they do have the capability to run an authorized group buy.
Well,
FabSpeed
sells for around $1,500.00 . I'm being told by several people that it has a very bad sound inside the cabin between 2000 - 4000 RPM. Milltek has worked all that out and offers great performance with a great sound...$2,000.00 is a bit more than
FabSpeed
however less than a TUBI Style @ $2,200.00
Ken,
I hope you might consider posting an audio clip of (1) stock and (2) Milltek after istallation. I know I'd sure appreciate it.
Side note: Adding a nice set of stainless
headers
and
exhaust
(made by DC Sport) gave my NSX a whole new personality in a very good way! I'vegive extra credit to a
exhaust
manufacturers showing the finest welding and workmanship in stainless, the 'correct' reduction of restriction, the perfect tone enhancement with the lowest overall desible increase. To have sucessfully nailed the droning issue is a huge perk. 'Greatly' increased interior noise at crusing/touring rpms is certainly not desireable to me.
Thanks for being a great guinea pig /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thumbsup.gifI'll look forwards to both the installation and results report,
John

I'm interested. Although, I will not purchase until the spring. Still have less than 500 miles. Also, I want to see/read reviews of the various after market producers. Can wait for K-man's report.

Hey Guys,
Fabspeed
is $2,000 for a cat back systemif you order the tips(includes shipping).
I'm not real happy with them right now as I orderd a system last Monday and put a check bank check in the mail. I was told both the system and tips were in stock. They got the check Thursday. I called to check on delivery Friday morning and was told they weresuddenly out of stock? Seemed a bit strange../fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/whatchutalkingabout_smile.gif
If there is going to be a Miltek group buy, perhaps I should get my check back. Anyone know who sells the Miltek system in the southern US? Does the price include new tips?
Definitely in for a group buy. I'm a repeat Milltek customer - worth every penny. I did not see any pricing for the cat/header on their web site. I would be interested in a group by for the whole kit- header/cat and cat back
exhaust
.
WOW!!! your going
headers
back! I can't wait to hear this.... You are the envy of Cayman owners....
Any advise on getting response on the group buy? I have sent two e-mails with no responce.... /fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/sad_smile.gif
I'm sure I'll be talking to Bob or Pete on Monday I will ask them then if you don't have a response by then, I know they were away last week at an event, they may still be catching up. They may be waiting on my results as well to respond. Yes, I am going
headers
all the way back, but as you can see NOT removing any cats from the system, although those are hi-flow cats so my HP gain may not be the ultimate, but I'm also not going to be failing emissions testing or turning off sensors in my
ECU
, etc.
Again, I can't wait for your input. on on similar topic, I have been told that the second set of cats are totally unnecessary for emissions? Thoughts???
Thanks for the photos - I intend to do this exact set up. Any comments on the cost of the
headers
/cats? If I read the Milltek site correctly these actually remove the second set of cats ( the back cats) and replace with more effective, high flow units. Still meets all US emissions specs, but should flow considerably better. Can't wait to hear what you think of the system installed.
