Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

When I found my GT3RS wing used, I had it repainted to match too.

Side skirts are still an issue, but hopefully a set pop up on the used market.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

A few weeks ago a friend offered me a 986S Aero Kit 1 bumper, and although the part had some minor damage I decided to buy it. Now most people would buy a bumper for car they owned, but I decided to do things in the "wrong" order. I picked up the bumper and figured a car would pop up to put it on, it wasn't too important if it was a 986S or a 996.1 as I happen to like both cars. It worked out this week that I traded for 996.1 that has the 996.1 Aero Kit II rear spoiler on it, and I think it is going to pair nicely with the 986 front bumper. Side skirts are still an issue, but hopefully a set pop up on the used market.
Anyway onto the pictures:
986S vs 996.2 bumper comparison:
What it will look like in black (from a one of the very few cars on the internet I can find with the bumper):
Rear spoiler:
And the car it is going to all go on at some point:
And so I have the info saved down, a few details on the car:
- Factory Options:
-- Carbon Shift **** and Hand Brake (both need to be refinished)
-- Hard Back Leather Sport Seats
-- 3 Spoke Steering Wheels
-- Sport Exhaust Tips
- Added Factory Parts
-- 997 GT3 Shifter Assembly
-- 996.1 Aero Kit 2 Rear Spoiler
-- 986S Aero Kit 1 Front Bumper
- Aftermarket Parts
-- OZ Wheels (6 of them, 18x8/x10/x11, these will most likely be for sale)
-- Fabspeed Exhaust and Tips
-- IPD Plenum and 82MM throttle body
-- FVD Motorsports Oil Pan
-- Coilovers (forgetting the brand)
-- Momo Steering Wheel
-- Rennline Pedal Set
-- Kenwood Radio
-- Turbo Look Rear Bumper (this needs to go, but it will work for now)
Nice, can't wait to see what it looks like. It took me almost 2 years to acquire my aero kit. The taco wing took the longest to find at a price within my budget. Now that I have the full kit I plan to respray the whole car but it maybe a little while before that happens. I'd like to refresh my whole suspension and bushings before I do any cosmetic upgrades. What's the point of a pretty Porsche if it doesn't ride and drive as good as it looks.
A full respray would be nice on this car as well, considering I'm going to need to do the front and rear bumpers, plus the side skirts, but I'm probably going to start with those items and call it good enough.
Agreed on having the mechanicals sorted before worrying about all the cosmetic details, I think the prior owners of this car took car of most of the mechanical bits, but I won't know until I really dig into it.
Agreed the headlights are different but could be made to fit by finding some on Ebay, etc. I do like the style MUCH better than the stocker.....these cars need to be squared off some.
There are two different 996s is the garage.
Yellow 996.2 is waiting on a new motor, it is not getting the 986S bumper.
Black 996.1 is getting the 986S aero kit bumper, has the aero kit II rear spoiler on it already.
While factory 996.1 Aero is the best. The costs are wild having just bought a Porsche Taco. It's good to see some other aero approaches. I have period Techart pieces for mine that are different. We can't all just clone.
My 996.2 came with the aerokit front bumper.
I found a used taco wing and had it repainted to match.
Then I bought side skirts from Sunset Porsche during Black Friday.
When those were painted I noticed that the way light reflects differently from the side skirts that even it the paint hadnt been close, the color difference wouldnt be noticeable.
When I found my GT3RS wing used, I had it repainted to match too.
A full spray was not necessary.
Im keeping the taco wing in case I buy a 996.1.
Sounds cool - following! Piecing together my own aerokit at the moment and its a pain. I also bought a damaged bumper but its an OEM .1 GT3 bumper that had an "off" on track.
