Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I did a search and only found a few threads in the complaints forum and there was no answer to any of them. Anyways I've noticed the passenger side speaker (lower) rattles every now and then, whether the volume is high or low. Maybe dependent on base level but somehow it doesn't always seem to be the case. For the record I have the Bose system. I remember on my E46 M3 the Harmon Kardon system also had a rattling passenger side speaker. There was a fix that was carried out by the service dept. that involved using a piece of foam. Don't remember the details but it fixed the rattling. Anyone here have any experience with this?

POST 2Original post

No, but I get rattling on the driver's side (I cannot confirm the location, upper or lower). It's starting to bother me. I too have the upgraded Bose system. I don't know if it also occurs on the passenger's side.

POST 4Original post

Nope, no rattling speakers here (Bose). Hope you find a good fix for yours.

POST 5Original post

After my luke warm reception to my Bose system...it has performed flawlessly since and I'm actually coming around to really appreciate the quality of it. I guess I was a little harsh on it to start if you remember my comments of how "average" it was many months ago. Speakers are crystal clear and vibration free so far. My E46 330Ci suffered from those rattling, tinny speakers also...I hated that!

POST 6Original post

I too have this "buzzing or vibration" noise coming from the drivers side. I was tapping my fingers on the dash one day and I can make it do it by that as well. It's not at a point of taking it in for just that yet.

POST 7Original post

Yup I've got it too...on the passenger side. It's starting to annoy me. I may take the grill off and try to use some foam...
