Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

16 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

The beep for fastening your seatbelt must be THE most irritating things about my car.... I HATE it... I always wear a seatbelt... even if I'm sitting in the car in a carpark with the engine off.. so I don't need this irritating beep going like crazy as soon as I turn on the car. The most irritating time is when you have the car delivered to you by a valet parking dude... the car just won't shut up!!! keeps beeping and beeping... I've had it... it has to go... rgds, Ziad

POST 2Original post

Talk to your dealer - they can turn it off using the PIWIS - but most in the US won't because of US Dept. of Transportation rules and liability problems. They might not have such restrictions in Abu Dhabi. Ask the service dept. if they can turn it off for you. They may charge you labor for it, though. brad

POST 3Original post

My dealer had me sign the work order with his comment that he didn't recommend making a change. Now it beeps 3 times and shuts up! Robin

POST 4Original post

3 beeps sounds like a fair solution... I'll go for that. Do your cars beep if the passenger isn't wearing the seat belt? Mine doesn't... seems to only care about the driver.

POST 6Original post

Same here in U.K.....Driver only....Thank goodness for this post.....Was planning on taking it to the dealer to rectify a "malfunctioning" passenger side sealt belt alarm....

POST 7Original post

after this seatbelt beeping fix, does it allow you to see the on board computer or does it still show the seatbelt warning?

POST 8Original post

Ziad, the Musaffah workshop will take care of it for you easily as I understand it from a friend.

POST 9Original post

i just use the passenger seat belt and buckle it into the driver side buckle. and it solves my problem. but i am looking into purchasing a set of set belt buckle and just plug it into the car, so the beeping stop when i dont wear seatbelts.

POST 10Original post

Sounds to me your not a big fan of wearing seat belts. This is not good advise. zornet

POST 11Original post

if you just push/pull the stalk for the computer information, the warning light goes away and it brings you to the menu.

POST 12Original post

i would never leave my cayman with a valet...

POST 13Original post

Exactly. I'd be interested in getting that chime to stop after three beeps too.

POST 14Original post

I tried that... they said they wouldn't do it... I'm gonna have to ask again.. I'll beg for it if I have to, cos it's really doing my head in everytime I drive the car. It's not that I don't wear the seatbelt... I ALWAYS do, it's just that it's like having someone nag you for something you're gonna do anyway with or without their naggin...

POST 15Original post

Mine only beeps 3 times. I guess the dealer programmed that for me. How many times does it beep from the factory without programming?

POST 16Original post

Mine keeps beeping until you wear the seat belt.
