Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I have checked on the latest Porsche bulletin, and C4S is not showing any info on using different spacers.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

1 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, I have found an issue with aftermarket and genuine front standard shock absorbers. There is a 14mm difference in the length of the exposed piston shaft, from top of shock body to the top of the threaded part. This difference results in lower initial preload on the spring, and I have seen 4 cars with same issue. The only thing I can see is that the superseded number does not cross over on any aftermarket catalogue, but the original number does. The cars have all been standard 029 suspension. I have checked on the latest Porsche bulletin, and C4S is not showing any info on using different spacers. Chris
