Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I have an issue with the window drop and return when I open the door. It lowers when the handle is pulled, but then immediately goes up so it hits the top. I think its the switch, but I can’t find the replacement part anywhere for the 987. Any idea who has the part or does the 986 part work? Thanks!!

POST 2Original post

I had what sounds like the same issue in my Boxster , using the external handle would only hold the window down as long as the handle was held up. The problem was the latch assembly and I was able to replace mine with one from an 09 Cayenne in a local junkyard. There are a number of other VW group cars that use the same assembly, see this link for more info "other" forum NOTE: The door latch bolts are triple squares, not torx. Cheers, Julian
