CS - Does anyone know what "----" on the tach means? I can't seem to find any documentation on it. Curious if anyone on P9 knows!
Intermittently comes up but stays persistent until you switch off. Don't believe there's any issue with the cars operation but does make me feel my
DME
is doing something funny.
Will attach a pic as soon as I work out where to upload it
Do you mean below the current speed, or instead of the speed? If it is below the speed, thats additional info controlled by the lower left stalk (OnBoard Computer). It probably is set to display some data that is not available or was reset. Could be lots of things. Do you have an after-market radio?
Regardless, try switching to display something else.
Mine does this intermittently if the radio is off and I have that portion of the display set to show radio / CD info. There's an option for it in the settings menu (I believe under Set > Display with the lower left stalk). Not sure why it's intermittent, it's generally blank if the radio is off but I guess sometimes the CANBUS gets a little squirelly on that front?
I guess the question is: does it go away if you turn on the radio? Assuming your head unit is the stock one, that is..
Thanks

! I think you are both on the money - I have the OEM BOSE system, very rarely turn it on so mostly stays off. I'd be curious if the intermittent behaviour is an indication to something flakey attached to the CANBUS. If this is it, then this case can be closed
I'm almost certain it is because you've got an aftermarket radio. To confirm, that immediately shoed up when I went from my OEM CDR30 radio to a Sony head unit....and I lost the radio station/song titles in that exact spot.
I'm going to try and code out the CDR30 with my
PIWIS 2
in the
next
few weeks and hopefully that will remove it; it's more an annoyance than anything.
I just flick the OBC stalk to display something else - like TPMS tire pressures. My radio already displays what I'm listening to. So that other OBC display would be redundant regardless. Since it is easily removed, I see no reason to try to code it out.
