Hi all, going to sell 2006 Cayman S after 7 years of no problems. Hopped in to drive to bank to sell, won’t turn over. Checked age of battery and 5 years old. Got a new battery and car has gone into anti theft mode. Can’t pop frunk, alarm goes off when door open. Was able to find emergency frunk release, open frunk and disconnect battery. Did not reset after letting it sit and reconnecting battery. Thoughts and thanks!

Can't help with the battery problem, but you have posted in the 981 forum. You may have more luck in the 987 area.

Try putting the key in the door while closed and lock/unlock it a couple times and see if it recognizes the chip and resets the alarm

Yeah, you might just need to resync the key. The process could be different for you, but on my 987.2 the manual states: You may need to check your manual to see if the process is different on your 987.1...

Have you replaced the battery in the key fob? I had the battery in the key fob of my '08CS go bad, and the car did really strange stuff, self locking/unlocking, not unlocking when you try to unlock, beeping, not starting, etc. Replaced the key fob battery and all was well. Mentioned the experience to the dealer, and they said that type of stuff happens when the key fob battery fails.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
