I’ve replaced several vacuum related pipes and tubes so until I get a proper smoke test I won’t know if it’s a vacuum leak.

I’ve had some issues with my 2005 987.1 . Whenever I quickly press the throttle, or rev match down shift, the engine misfires / stutters. My short term fuel trims are normal at idle, maybe a little lean, but spike to 25+ under high rpm acceleration. I’ve already replaced my plugs so I don’t think it’s that. I’ve replaced several vacuum related pipes and tubes so until I get a proper smoke test I won’t know if it’s a vacuum leak. I have two codes, one for a very small evap leak and the other for warmup catalyst below efficiency threshold bank 2. The engine seems to have noticeably less power at low rpms. Any idea what could be the cause of this?

Hi - welcome to Planet-9... Top of my head thinking out loud sort of things...: The short-term trim under high RPM acceleration possibly indicates a lean condition. That could also account for the other issues. Have you read the ECU with a Porsche -specific diagnostics tool? Lots of times there are stored error messages that basic tools simply can't access or read. You mentioned 2 codes - the evap leak should be addressed. The warmup cat code could also be due to a lean mixture during warmup (the mixture normally goes rich to fire off the catalytic converter.) Have you checked the fuel pressure at the injector rails?
